I am Warrior... for completing yet Another Goal!!!

Week 2 of training has come to a close, which means week 3 has begun!

As for April goal #2- I have achieved and exceeded the previously failed February goal to run my age (27 miles) to celebrate the birthday with a bang!

April has definitely proven to be a success, running 32 miles in total so far (there are still 2 more days left in the month!)

Here is an update of the before & after run collage:

Have a fantastic and strong weekend!

Scored a goal!

Goal #1 is DONE!

I aimed to match and trump February's 13.8 miles. How many have I completed as of today?

14 miles baby!!! That's 0.2 miles more than I had anticipated this early in the "game."

On to Goal #2... Reach the intended February "Birthday" 27 miles.

Only 13 miles to go!!

I've been taking pictures since day 1 of training. They are photos of me before and after each run :)

Warrior Dash - Bring it on!

You read that right. I'm going to brave the Warrior Dash in Pennsylvania on June 12!

Let the training begin!

Thursday (April 13) was Day 1 of training. I also ran on Friday, and today, Sunday. My total distance so far is 10 MILES!!!

Only 3.2+ miles left till I reach my first "mini" goal by surpassing the mileage accumulated in February, and to make up for that failed goal.

As for the much anticipated Warrior Dash, I will only be representing a warrior. The true warrior is a man braver than anyone I know. A beautiful person both inside and out battling cancer. He has no choice but to fight every day. He doesn't have the luxury to decide or make excuses for how sick he feels one day to the next.

He is my inspiration. A motivation more powerful than I can ever put into words. Just when I'm beginning to procrastinate or give up on training, all I have to do is think of him. If he can't choose, how can I? I can't. Quitting is not an option.

Reminds me of this quote from an Eminem song, "You can sound the alarm. You can call out your guards. You can fence in your yard. You can pull all the cards. But I won't back down!"

Back in Action: Mending broken goals

Unpredictability.
It's what makes the world delightfully interesting and horribly distressing. That could explain why the limbic system in the brain controls both laughter and crying. Both emotions are complete opposites, but you can't have one without the other.

Where am I going with this, you may ask?

Back in February, specific running goals were set, but never met. You can thank the "lovely" spontaneous nature of life that's been thrown in my direction. The entire universe seems to be trying to sabotage my life, Initially, weakness took control, and was leading me down an empty hopeless road.

NOT anymore!

There are much greater and braver challenges people face. How can I simply quit? I must get back up, dust myself off, and continue on with the journey by creating goals that will be met.

For the month of April, my goal is to at least meet head to head with February's miles, and hopefully surpass them.

This past Thursday was Day 1 of my running goal, and I have already accumulated 6 miles. Only 7.8+ MILES to go!!!

Do you need a more heart wrenching motivation to help quit?

Why does the FCC allow "almost" sex scenes, but not an ad to help save lives???
